About the Opportunity

Doherty Staffing Solutions is hiring a Materials Specialist for a manufacturing company in Alexandria, MN. In this role, you’ll ensure materials and components are received, stored, documented, and distributed accurately to support production and assembly operations. If you’re organized, detail-oriented, and enjoy keeping manufacturing operations moving efficiently, this job could be a great fit.

What You'll Do as a Materials Specialist:

• Receive and distribute fabricated and purchased components to the production floor or job carts
• Assign conformance to purchased components and issue materials to machines as requested by assembly personnel
• Receive, store, and identify customer products and corrugated materials
• Load and unload trucks while following forklift safety guidelines
• Process job returns, shipments, and internal customer service requests
• Load and ship machines and restock parts carts
• Update routers, verify shortage sheets before assembly starts, and follow written processes while seeking cost-effective solutions

What You Need to Bring to the Materials Specialist Role:

• High school diploma
• Licensed forklift driver
• At least 1 year of relevant experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• CDL preferred but not required
