Chemist

Kelly Science is seeking a Chemist to join a growing company located in Alpharetta, GA.

Pay: $31-39/hour

Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

Job responsibilities:

+ Maintain a safe work environment, participate in safety audits and training, and follow applicable SOPs and Certified Operator requirements.

+ Collaborate with a Research Scientist to plan and conduct lab-scale synthesis of polymers and small organic molecules.

+ Prepare samples for analysis; collect, organize, document, and communicate experimental observations, data, and results in lab notebooks and monthly reports.

+ Operate, maintain, and perform preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment and instrumentation, coordinating parts, installations, and repairs as needed.

+ Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Material Science or a related scientific field.

+ Experience in polymer and/or small-molecule synthesis and characterization; organic chemistry or polymer synthesis experience preferred.

+ Strong bench skills and willingness to spend approximately 90% of the time in the lab.

+ Familiarity with modern characterization methods such as DSC, TGA, GPC, NMR, FT-IR, and titration.
