Friends of the Elderly (FotE) is a not‑for‑profit charity that has supported older people for over 120 years. The Lawn is a Georgian period home in Holybourne, Alton, Hampshire.
Role SummaryAs Activities Coordinator you will lead and encourage residents to participate in meaningful activities while maintaining their independence, choice and dignity. You will create a stimulating and varied programme of leisure activities and social events, both inside and outside the home, and develop individual social care plans.
Responsibilities- Create and deliver programmes of leisure and social activities.
- Assess each resident’s likes, dislikes, abilities and needs to develop individual care plans.
- Evaluate and update care plans regularly.
- Engage with local community groups and arrange volunteer opportunities for residents.
- Recruit a network of volunteers to provide diverse social opportunities.
- Maintain strong communication and interpersonal relationships with residents.
- Support residents in remaining active and independent in everyday life.
- Previous experience of organising and coordinating activities is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passionate about supporting older people.
- Willingness to learn and enthusiasm for encouraging others.
- Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
