Overview OfThe Role
Lead and deliver environmental and sustainability work streams at all project stages—from business case development to construction—while advocating for environmental and social outcomes. This UK‑based role is open to any of our 20+ offices, with a preference for the listed locations and potential travel.
Key Responsibilities- Lead EIA screening, scoping, and the production of Environmental Statements and other reports.
- Coordinate technical input from multidisciplinary specialists.
- Manage programmes, resources, and finances on environmental projects.
- Drive business development and proposal writing for environmental services.
- Engage with clients and stakeholders.
- Mentor and line‑manage environmental team members.
- Develop environmental technical specialism while coordinating work streams.
- Strong academic/professional qualifications.
- Chartership with IEMA, IES, CIWEM, or similar.
- Extensive experience in environmental assessment, EIA, SEA, UK legislation, ESG, and sustainability strategy for infrastructure projects.
- Client‑facing experience with proven stakeholder influence.
- Excellent organisational, planning, and budgeting skills.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams to high‑standard environmental deliverables.
- Bid/tender delivery experience.
- Experience with TWAO/DCO schemes or in water, defence, energy, marine, or rail sectors.
- People‑management experience and staff development.
- Delivery of environmental workshops or training.
