What’s in the role and what are we looking for?

We are recruiting for an Assistant Garment Technologist to join our Technology team. You will work with our both men’s and ladies’ products to ensure that all products produced for Cotton Traders accurately matches our Company specification in terms of sizing, quality and performance and provide a consistent quality and fit to our customer base.

You will have bundles of passion and energy to work within our Garment Technology department to contribute to successfully driving our ranges.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

• Support the day-to-day running of the department.
• Sketching of products including key details to help create the size specification.
• Prepare samples for the fit meetings.
• Attending fit meetings on live models with Garment technologists and Buyers, providing concise fit and quality amendment comments to the suppliers.
• Fitting will be on both male and female models.
• Supporting the process on all products through the sealing process from initial fit to production and postproduction.
• Checking care label information and all packaging details.
• Supporting the Garment technologist with analysing test reports with recommendations.
• Continually analysing return information on products, especially by colour, making suggestions for improvements to fit, quality.
• Supporting Customer Services and Stores with any technical queries.

The Successful Candidate will:

• Work experience in the industry with a minimum of two years’ experience within an Assistant Garment Technology role.
• Experience working with pattern cutting would be an advantage on both men’s and ladies blocks.
• Enthusiasm and determination, with a passion for Garment Technology.
• Team spirit and a cheerful outlook.
• Confidence in communicating, to maintain a strong working relationship with all departments and suppliers.
• An initiative-taker approach to the role with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
• Coral Draw/Adobe illustrator skills (desirable but not essential).
