An innovative and growing accountancy practice based in Sussex is looking for a proactive and commercially minded accountant to join their dynamic team. About the role:

You ll take ownership of a varied portfolio of limited company clients, with responsibilities including:

• Year-end accounts preparation

• Corporation tax compliance and submissions

• VAT returns and bookkeeping

• Management accounts and business performance reporting

• Reviewing work prepared by an offshore accountant to ensure accuracy and quality

• Supporting business advisory projects to help clients grow and succeed

This is a highly collaborative role where you ll be encouraged to get under the skin of your clients businesses, spot opportunities for improvement, and add real value. While it s not a sales-focused role, someone with a sharp commercial eye who enjoys solving problems and spotting ways to help clients would thrive here.

About you:

You ll likely be ACA, ACCA, CIMA or AAT qualified (or finalist) and have trained in practice. This role would suit someone who:

• Wants to bridge the gap between practice and industry, enjoying the variety of a portfolio but with deeper insight into clients businesses

• Has a strong grasp of management accounts and performance analysis

• Is confident reviewing others work and ensuring high standards

• Enjoys working directly with business owners and making a difference

• Is commercially savvy and switched-on, able to spot opportunities and offer insight

• Values progression and would like to grow with a firm long-term
