Job Responsibilities
  • Must be located in one of the following: US, UK, Ireland, Poland, Spain, Greece, Hungary, Belgium, Romania, Ukraine, South Africa, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, or Columbia.

  • Principal Biostatistician – RShiny specific:
  • Sets up and maintains excellent R‑based computing environment, adds missing features to apps, fixes bugs, screens market for data visualisation tools and integrates internal/external apps.
  • Organises and performs user training, available for user support on demand.
  • Stays up to date with latest technical possibilities and maintains excellent knowledge in R and R‑Shiny, clinical data structures, and programming.
  • Expert in functional and object‑oriented programming, Java script/Typescript, HTML, WebGL, CUDA/GPU‑programming, cloud‑computing, Github, web‑hosting, and Machine Learning.
  • Strong communication skills; works independently and collaboratively; presents complex issues clearly.
  • Serves as a statistical department resource, mentors biostatisticians, oversees training plans, conducts training sessions.
  • Directs activities of other biostatistics personnel on assigned projects, ensuring timely completion; provides independent review of project work.
  • Provides support across all statistical tasks during the lifecycle of the project, from protocol to CSR.
  • Prepares or oversees the preparation of Statistical Analysis Plans (SAPs); collaborates with sponsor if required.
  • May act as Lead Biostatistician for protocol statistics, randomisation schedule, and clinical study report input.
  • Creates or reviews programming specifications for analysis datasets, tables, listings, and figures.
  • Reviews SAS annotated CRFs, database design, and other documentation to ensure protocol criteria are met.
  • Implements company objectives and creates alternative solutions to address business and operational challenges.
  • Interfaces with other departmental project team representatives; prepares for internal meetings, contributes ideas, demonstrates respect for others.
  • Conducts and participates in verification and quality control of project deliverables.
  • May lead complex or multiple projects (e.g., submissions, integrated analyses) and attend regulatory agency meetings.
  • Manages scheduling and time constraints across multiple projects; sets priorities; adapts workload; proactively communicates any difficulties.
  • Monitors progress against milestones; identifies out‑of‑scope tasks and escalates.
