Interim Power BI & Data Build Tool Specialist

For our client, a leading semi-public organisation in the Netherlands, we are looking for an experienced Interim Power BI & Data Build Tool Specialist to strengthen the Data & Analytics function.

This is a hands-on interim assignment focused on building high-quality data products, dashboards and datasets that support data-driven decision-making across the organisation. You will work in a hybrid setup within a mature data environment, collaborating closely with business users, engineers and analytics professionals.

Hybrid | Amsterdam region, Netherlands | 36 hours per week | Interim / Freelance

• Design, build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports
  , often in close collaboration with end users.
• Prepare, transform and model data by designing and maintaining robust ETL pipelines
  , aligned with data platform architecture principles.
• Develop and maintain datasets for both standard reporting and self-service BI
  .
• Support business users in using self-service Power BI solutions effectively.
• Perform technical testing, code reviews and quality checks based on the four-eyes principle.
• Conduct in-depth data analyses and proactively identify opportunities to improve data products and processes.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to translate business questions into scalable data solutions.
• Work as part of an Agile (Scrum) data team
  , contributing to continuous improvement and innovation.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (HBO / WO) in Business, IT, Business Information Management or a related field.
• 3+ years of proven experience designing, building and deploying Power BI reports in a production environment.
• 5+ years of experience with data modelling, ETL processes and SQL.
• Hands-on, demonstrable experience with:
  • Power BI Premium
  • Data Build Tool (DBT)
  • Databricks
  • Azure Data Factory
  • Git version control
  • CI/CD pipelines (Microsoft Dev Ops)
• Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience in Big Data, data processing and Machine Learning models

• Proactive, independent and result-oriented working style with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills in Dutch
  .
• Available from 1 February 2026 for at least 36 hours per week
  .
• Willing to work on-site 2 days per week and to undergo a background check (VOG).

• Interim assignment from February 1, 2026 until December 31, 2026, with possible extension.
