Senior Biochemical Analyst

The position

As a Senior Biochemical Analyst in the Product Development department, you will be closely involved in the development of new products. You will carry out project-based activities aimed at improving existing reagents and developing new ones and/or test kits for immunodiagnostics. You will report to the Head of Product Development and be responsible for properly documenting experiments and reporting within the project team.

You will conduct experiments in accordance with Essange Reagents' quality standards.

Essange Reagents works according to a product design & development procedure that describes the product development cycle. This entire process, with all its facets, is carried out within a multidisciplinary team, where you will maintain contact with both internal stakeholders (Marketing, Production, Regulatory Affairs, Quality) and external stakeholders. You will encounter all aspects of assay development, which means your work will be very diverse.

What do you bring to the table?

• A completed higher professional education (HLO) degree (Medical Biology, Biochemistry, Clinical Chemistry);
• Broad experience with biochemical/immunological techniques;
• Broad experience working within quality systems (ISO 13485 or others);
• Broad (5
  -10 Years) experience with product development in the in-vitro medical device industry is a plus;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Graph Pad Prism is a plus;
• The ability to work accurately and independently within a product development team;
• Organizational skills
• Good communication skills: proactive, flexible, and sociable.
• A good command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written, is a must;

Where will you be working?

Essange Reagents is an independent organization where over 100 colleagues work closely together. We are located on the Sanquin campus and, until recently, were also part of Sanquin. Since October 2022, we have been an independent organization within the Sanquin ecosystem. We supply in vitro diagnostics in the field of blood group serology and immunodiagnostics to (research) laboratories, hospitals, and the pharmaceutical industry.

Together, we manage the development, production, and sales of these products. We are successful in this and are continuously growing towards one goal: delivering a high-quality product for the best possible patient care. Within the Product Development department, 18 employees work on devising creative solutions in the development of high-quality reagents that will ultimately be available worldwide, and you will be part of that.
