Overview
Project Support Officer -

Requirements- Proven experience supporting or maintaining project schedules, ideally using Microsoft Project as the primary tool.
- Strong understanding of project planning principles including WBS creation, task sequencing, critical paths, and baselines.
- Experience documenting and managing dependencies and tracking benefits.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills with a structured and detail-oriented approach.
- Clear communication skills for reporting schedule and dependency information to stakeholders.
- Familiarity with project methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid).
- SC Cleared
- Travel to Bristol/Andover 2 days a week
- Position may require travel and security considerations as part of the role
- Scheduling & Microsoft Project Management (Primary Focus)
- Build, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project as the primary planning tool
- Develop structured work breakdown structures (WBS), task networks, critical paths, and milestone maps
- Monitor schedule health, identify slippage or conflicts, and recommend corrective actions
- Maintain schedule baselines aligned with project governance, approvals timelines, risk and cost models
- Produce schedule reports, Gantt charts, milestone summaries, and analysis for project and governance boards
- Support creation of integrated schedules to feed programme-level planning
- Dependency Management (Primary Focus)
- Identify, document, and manage project dependencies with owners, dates, and required conditions
- Keep dependency logs up to date, tracking status, risks, and emerging issues
- Ensure dependencies are accurately reflected in Microsoft Project schedules and governance reporting
- Coordinate with cross-project and external stakeholders to confirm impacts and sequencing
- Benefits Management (Primary Focus)
- Maintain benefits registers, mapping inputs, outputs, outcomes, and expected realisation timelines
- Track progress against benefits baselines and highlight deviations early
- Support preparation of benefits updates for decision boards and approvals documentation (OBC/FBC)
- Ensure benefits interdependencies and timelines align with schedule deliverables and dependency assumptions
