A well-established and highly automated manufacturing business based in Antrim is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join its engineering team. This role plays a key part in driving process efficiency, product quality, and continuous improvement within a machine-based production environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys problem-solving, optimising manufacturing processes, and working cross-functionally to support both new product introduction and ongoing operational performance.
The Role:- Design, develop, and optimise manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and quality
- Support the development and implementation of new production lines and equipment
- Prepare and maintain process documentation, specifications, and standards
- Analyse production methods, materials, and equipment to identify cost-effective solutions
- Drive process improvements to reduce downtime, defects, and waste
- Work closely with product design teams to ensure manufacturability of new designs
- Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues related to processes, materials, and equipment
- Support maintenance and modification of existing machinery to improve reliability
- Deliver training to operators and production staff where required
- Support Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Analyse production data and KPIs to support performance reporting
- Carry out cost analysis and value engineering activities
- Qualification in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering (or similar)
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or production engineering role
- Strong knowledge of machine-based manufacturing environments
- Experience with machining, assembly, or welding processes
- Proficient in CAD software such as Solid Works or AutoCAD
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement tools
- Strong problem‑solving and root cause analysis skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management ability
- High attention to detail with a quality‑focused mindset
