Applications Engineer

This position reports to the Applications Engineering Manager and is responsible for providing technical support to our customers once they have purchased our electronic burn-in test system, in order to assist the customer in getting the system operational in their production environment.

• Provide applications support to our customers, offering advice on alternative design techniques and the implementation of alternative solutions.
• Review specifications, schedules and drawings and other information in order to determine the best application of MCC’s products.
• Develop custom test programs to check out customer-specific test printed circuit boards.
• Translate and verify test vectors.
• Develop technical proposals for customer applications needs.
• Identify and facilitate process improvements to increase responsiveness to the customer’s business needs.
• Work closely with MCC PCB Design and Layout Engineers.

• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Two years relevant experience with electrical / electronic products, writing code for software or firmware along with troubleshooting experience on hardware.
• Printed circuit board testing and troubleshooting experience.
• Inquisitive problem-solver with strong technical aptitude.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively.
• Experience with multi-meters and oscilloscopes.
• Understanding of digital logic.
• Ability to read electronic schematics.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to travel up to 25% both domestically and internationally.

• Experience with Python; general programming knowledge and ability.
• Familiarity with Cadence software.
