Position: Electrical Estimator / Bid Manager (Contractor )

Electrical Estimator / Bid Manager (Contractor - Armagh) CLIENT

An excellent opportunity for an Electrical Estimator / Bid Manager to join the growing team at Fox Electrical Contractors Ltd, a well-established and reputable contractor based in Armagh.

With a strong pipeline of projects across commercial, industrial and public-sector sectors, the company continues to expand its operations and is now seeking an experienced and driven professional to support their tendering and commercial activities.

This is a key role within a successful and growing business offering stability, autonomy and long-term career progression.

The Ideal Person

The successful candidate will have:

  • 3+ years' experience in an estimating or similar commercial role within the electrical or wider construction sector.
  • Strong ability to interpret drawings, specifications and prepare accurate material take-offs.
  • Experience preparing competitive tenders ranging from small works to multi-million-pound projects.
  • Good IT proficiency, ideally with:
    • Microsoft Word, Excel, Project
    • AutoCAD
    • Any recognised estimating software
  • A strong communicator with an organised and methodical approach.
  • Commercially aware, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Full driving licence.
Responsibilities

As Electrical Estimator / Bid Manager, you will play a key role in supporting ongoing growth through:

  • Researching labour, material, transport and equipment costs for tender submissions.
  • Preparing detailed and competitive quotations for a broad range of electrical projects.
  • Obtaining supplier and subcontractor quotations and maintaining an up-to-date cost database.
  • Assessing project risks and contributing to bid strategy.
  • Supporting bids for new contracts and liaising with clients, principal contractors and design teams.
  • Monitoring project costs to ensure delivery within estimated budgets.
  • Attending design and progress meetings as required.
