Key Responsibilities- Oversee all operational and transport planning functions.
- Lead, coach, and develop planning teams.
- Drive change initiatives and support project delivery.
- Develop and implement transport strategies to optimise vehicle use and reduce costs.
- Support commercial and fleet teams with capacity planning.
- Assist customer service teams with inquiries and updates.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers and service providers.
- Coordinate with warehousing for timely deliveries.
- Ensure accurate data entry in Traffic Management System (TMS).
- Conduct daily driver briefings and monitor POD status.
- Plan efficient shipping routes and monitor vehicle movements.
- Track vehicle revenue and report maintenance issues.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, legal, and environmental standards.
- Collaborate with HR on recruitment, training, and disciplinary matters.
- Participate in management meetings and prepare performance reports.
- Proven experience in senior logistics, transport, or operations management.
- Expertise in transport planning and depot management.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Commercial awareness and customer-focused mindset.
- Problem-solving ability in high-pressure environments.
- Geographic knowledge of UK and Ireland.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and TMS.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience within the freight or logistics industry.
- Strong understanding of global freight forwarding processes and supply chain operations.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing key accounts.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency MS Office Suite.
- Analytical and problem solving.
- Experience in international logistics and trade compliance.
