Data Center Installation Technician - TS​/SCI - On-Call; VA​/CO​/TX

Position: Data Center Installation Technician - TS/SCI - On-Call (VA / CO / TX)

URSA Mobile, Inc. is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) supporting the Department of War and the national security community with cleared technical specialists. We hold a Top Secret facility clearance and are building an on-call bench of cleared data center installation technicians.

Position summary

Install fully integrated server, storage, network and GPU racks at secure government data center facilities. Work is project-based: deployments typically last one to several days and are scheduled with advance notice. We are recruiting technicians based in Northern Virginia, the Denver/Aurora, Colorado area and San Antonio, Texas, as well as Northern Virginia-based technicians willing to travel to Colorado and Texas for deployments.

Key

responsibilities

• Receive secure equipment shipments, check items against shipping manifests, and inspect tamper-evident seals, security tape and tilt indicators

• Maintain chain of custody and document any damage on arrival

• Position, level and secure racks; install loose-shipped components such as rails, optics, cards and locks

• Run, dress and label inter-rack and uplink cabling from a cable matrix

• Power on systems, confirm a clean boot and run vendor-provided test scripts

• Correct installation defects and complete handover checklists with site staff

Minimum qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance

• 2+ years of hands-on data center rack installation and cabling experience

• Able to lift 50 lbs and work on data center floors for extended shifts

• Based in Northern Virginia, the Denver/Aurora area or San Antonio, or willing to travel to those areas for deployments

Preferred qualifications

• ISSA access or an active record in Scattered Castles

• Experience with Dell or HPE servers, NVIDIA GPU racks, Cisco switching, Net App storage or Legrand PDUs

• HPC or AI-cluster deployment experience

• Experience leading install crews and writing completion reports (site lead candidates)

Details

• On-call, paid hourly per assignment: $45-$60/hr for technicians depending on experience; site leads $65-$85/hr

• Available as a W-2 employee or a 1099 independent contractor

• Travel time and expenses are covered for out-of-area deployments

• Work is project-based; volume varies and is not guaranteed. These positions support anticipated work and are contingent on program award.
