The firm supports a diverse client base across privately held businesses, technology companies, professional services, entrepreneurs, and emerging industries. The position offers strong ownership across federal and state tax compliance, complex tax planning, client relationship management, and team leadership. Beyond day-to-day tax engagements, there is an emphasis on developing tax professionals, improving workflows, strengthening client advisory capabilities, and helping establish the processes and standards that support the firm's continued growth.

Compensation includes a $160K–$190K base salary, 10% target annual performance bonus, and $10K sign-on bonus
, bringing potential first-year cash compensation to approximately $185K–$220K at target performance
. Additional benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage with significant employer-paid premiums, 401(k) matching after the first year, and professional development opportunities.

What this role will own:
  • Lead tax compliance and review complex federal and state individual, partnership, S corporation, and C corporation tax returns for a diverse portfolio of privately held businesses and individual clients
  • Manage complex tax planning and advisory engagements, identifying opportunities to minimize tax liabilities, improve tax efficiency, and support clients with broader business and financial decisions
  • Partner directly with firm leadership on tax strategy, department operations, technical standards, and the continued growth of the tax practice
  • Manage, mentor, and develop Tax Managers and other tax professionals, providing technical guidance, training, and ongoing performance feedback
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business owners, entrepreneurs, and senior client stakeholders, building long-term relationships and identifying additional tax and accounting advisory opportunities
  • Research complex federal and state tax issues, interpret changing tax legislation, and provide practical recommendations to clients and internal teams
  • Improve tax preparation and review processes, documentation, workflow management, and quality control while leveraging cloud accounting technology, automation, and AI tools
  • Take ownership of special projects and practice development initiatives as the firm continues to expand its tax compliance, planning, and advisory services
Ideal background:
  • 6+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting, ideally within a small to mid-sized CPA firm or public accounting and advisory environment
  • 3+ years of experience managing tax professionals, overseeing client engagements, and reviewing complex tax returns at the Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager level
  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) credential required
  • Strong technical knowledge of federal and state taxation, including individual income tax, partnership taxation, S corporations, C…
