Join the Eiffage Kier Ferrovial BAM (EKFB) team as an Ecology Advisor for the HS2 C2 area, delivering civil engineering works across an 80 km section of the new high‑speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood.
AboutThe Role
This role is based in the North Chilterns to Aylesbury (NC2A) area. Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence due to the remote location.
Responsibilities- Undertake ecological surveys for legally protected species.
- Carry out pre‑commencement desk studies and site walk‑over checks.
- Deliver briefings and Toolbox Talks (TBTs) to site and engineering teams.
- Complete and review ecological and arboricultural construction permits.
- Identify and implement ecological site mitigation, including drafting precautionary working method statements (PWMSs).
- Complete ecological technical assessments.
- Coordinate Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoWs).
- Manage ecology and landscaping subcontractors.
- Perform assurance checks of ecological and landscape mitigation sites.
- Conduct ecological watching briefs.
- Carry out targeted ecological site inspections.
- Liaise with the construction team to ensure works comply with legislation and internal processes.
- Investigate site incidents.
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of ecological legislation for large‑scale infrastructure projects in the UK.
- Strong attention to detail while recognising delivery priorities and programme needs.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain working relationships.
- Experience in stakeholder management, negotiating with diverse stakeholders and communicating key points.
- Membership of an appropriate professional body working towards chartered status.
- Holder of a Level 1 (or above) GCN class licence; other licences welcome.
- Full UK driving licence required.
