Veterinary Surgeon – Buckinghamshire

  • Independent, family‑run practice offering genuine clinical freedom and a supportive team environment
  • Excellent work‑life balance with a 4‑day week, no OOH/on‑call, and flexibility around rota patterns
  • Modern, well‑equipped practice featuring digital X‑ray, dental suite, ultrasound, in‑house lab, and a fully equipped theatre
  • Attractive package including a salary up to £75,000 DOE and generous holiday allowance

My client is a proudly independent small animal practice based in the popular county town of Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. Founded with a commitment to delivering excellence in all aspects of pet care, the practice combines many years of veterinary experience with a genuine passion for animal health. Their mission is to create an environment that champions clinical excellence while providing first‑rate patient care.

The practice has invested heavily in state‑of‑the‑art facilities, including digital X‑ray, a dedicated dental suite, in‑house laboratory, ultrasound, and a fully equipped operating theatre. This allows the team to diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions, ensuring pets receive exceptional care. Separate cat and dog wards help minimise stress for patients, and dental X‑ray capabilities will soon enhance their service even further.

Orthopaedics and soft tissue surgery are in house.

My client is now seeking a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon—suited to either a new graduate or someone with 3+ years of experience—to join their close‑knit team of 2 Vets, 3 RVNs, and 1 Head RVN. As an independent, family‑run practice, they understand that every pet is a cherished member of the family and pride themselves on offering a warm, supportive environment.

The Role
  • Full‑time position working a 4‑day week
  • No OOH, Sundays or bank holidays
  • 1:3 Saturday rota
  • 6pm finish - last consult at 17:20pm everyday
  • Flexible rota patterns considered, including earlier finishes
Benefits
  • Competitive salary up to £75,000 DOE
  • 28 days holiday
  • Pension scheme
  • Birthday off - if Birthday falls on W/E or RDO
  • CPD - No limit agreed with manager
  • VDS, RCVS & BVA fees covered

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a truly independent practice in the heart of Buckinghamshire, where your development, wellbeing, and clinical freedom genuinely matter.
