Section Engineer

EKFB is a joint venture that brings together international, market‑leading expertise from four leading civil engineering and construction companies:
Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction and BAM Nuttall. All four partners have specialist expertise in the design, construction, operation, financing and maintenance of railway networks, including the construction of one of Europe’s latest high‑speed rail projects. We are seeking to recruit a Section Engineer with experience in highways, structure or earthworks.

This role will be based from our A41 site compound just outside of Aylesbury. It manages junior engineers and assists the Sub Agent in construction operations. You will report to the Sub Agent and supervise the site engineering team from construction to close‑out. You will assist with temporary works design schemes, liaise with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant and materials, and ensure works activities meet required standards, programme and budget.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the site setting‑out team and develop the performance of Site Engineers.
  • Identify and resolve technical problems on site in liaison with the Sub‑Agent.
  • Monitor and coordinate subcontractors to ensure they meet contractual requirements.
  • Assist with the production of programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans and contribute to financial forecasting.
Qualifications
  • Membership (ICE) HNC/Degree (Construction/Civil Engineering related) or equivalent and working towards institute.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of Site Engineering activities combined with construction supervision skills.
  • Experience in utilities, earthworks, heavy structures or drainage is essential.
  • Must hold a CSCS White card.
  • Must hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle.

Standard employment checks will be undertaken upon selection, including references, , driving licence and right to work in the UK. BPSS security clearance will be required as part of the onboarding process.
