Personal assistant lady

Job Purpose

An opportunity as a personal assistant has become available to support a lady who lives with a physical disability and mental health issues, in Aylsham with day-to-day tasks.

Aylsham, NR11

• Light housework – Help with washing up, hoovering, ironing, hanging washing out, and any other tasks that are deemed necessary at that time.
• Meal preparation – Support with cooking evening meals and baking.
• Leisure activities – Visit charity shops as part of the lady’s therapy.
• Occasionally take to and from appointments.
• Occasional overnight stay when appointed person is not available.
• Medication support – Be shown how to administer her medication, in rare circumstances that the lady’s partner is not available.

The rate of pay for this position is £12.38ph.

• Hours and times of work – 3 days a week for 5 hours each day. Can be flexible.
• Other duties will be discussed if/when deemed appropriate but everything that will be expected will be explained prior to acceptance of the position.
• The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
• Access to free training for employed workers.
• If this job requires manual handling, handling of hazardous chemicals and/or food handling you will be required to undertake annual training.

• A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
• Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
• Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months.
