Management Accountant

Management Accountant – Ayrshire – Salary up to £50k (DOE)

Lusona Consultancy are delighted to be partnered with a successful and growing service‑sector client based in Ayrshire to recruit an Accountant for a full‑time, permanent role. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or qualified‑by‑experience accountant seeking a broad, hands‑on position. The role will suit someone who enjoys variety and autonomy, with responsibility across the full finance function.

You will take ownership of all aspects of the company’s day‑to‑day accounting, financial reporting, and compliance activities. This is a truly all‑encompassing role, where your input will directly support business performance and decision‑making.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Preparing monthly management accounts and year‑end financial statements
• Processing weekly and monthly payroll, pensions, and CIS returns
• Managing purchase and sales ledgers, bank reconciliations, and cash book postings
• Preparing VAT returns, balance sheet reconciliations, and fixed asset management
• Monitoring work‑in‑progress, invoices, and statement reconciliations
• Assisting with forecasting, audit preparation, and management reporting

The ideal candidate will be a professionally qualified accountant (ICAS, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience, with strong, all‑round experience across end‑to‑end accounting, including payroll and VAT. You will be proficient in Sage 50, confident using Excel and other reporting systems, and possess excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. This role requires a hands‑on, adaptable approach and the ability to work independently within a small, busy team environment.
