Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Reception / Typist based at Eglinton House, Ailsa Hospital
. This is offered on a fixed‑term or secondment basis.

Hours

From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full‑time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part‑time staff) without loss of earnings.

30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 0830 – 1500.

What you will do

Flexible and enthusiastic, you will deliver a comprehensive clerical service to users of Elgin House, while also providing remote support to the Community Nurse Administration Team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Based at Ailsa Hospital, you will work closely with senior staff across the organisation and act as the first point of contact for enquiries—often handling matters of a confidential and sensitive nature with professionalism and discretion.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job

Applicants should hold relevant IT qualifications, such as ECDL, and demonstrate strong keyboard skills. Previous experience within the NHS is desirable for this role. Familiarity with SSTS is also advantageous; however, full training will be provided.
