** Salary**£38,000 per annum
** Duty Manager
**** Ayr****£38,000
** We’re hiring a Duty Manager at our Ayr depot and are open to college and university graduates who want to start a real leadership career, not just land another entry-level job.
This role is for someone smart, curious, and confident, with the professionalism to speak up and the integrity to do the right thing, even when it’s not the easiest option.
You’ll be supported, trained, and trusted to grow into a strong people leader from day one.
Relevant qualifications may include Travel & Tourism, Human Geography, Business, HR, Operations or similar but mindset and potential matter just as much as what you studied.
Why this role stands out
* You’ll have real responsibility, not “grad shadowing”
* You’ll lead people, not just processes
* Your decisions will directly impact safety, service and team culture
* You’ll be developed into the kind of manager people actually want to work forWhat you’ll be doing
* Leading people – Supporting and motivating frontline colleagues in a respectful, inclusive environment.
* Building performance – Giving feedback, setting expectations and helping people improve.
* Learning fast – Working with training teams to build your leadership and operational skills.
* Handling people matters – Managing absence, conduct and concerns fairly and professionally.
* Keeping things moving – Supporting daily depot operations and solving problems as they come up.
* Working with others – Collaborating with managers, drivers and external partners.
* Putting safety first – Always. We don’t cut corners and we don’t walk past issues.
What we’re looking for
* A relevant degree or qualification (or close to completing one)
* Confidence to communicate clearly and challenge respectfully
* Strong organisation and decision-making skills
* Comfort using technology and learning new systems
* A positive, resilient mindset and openness to feedback
* A genuine interest in leadership, people, and making things better
You don’t need years of management experience. We’ll teach you the technical stuff.
What matters most is attitude, integrity and ambition.
** Working hours are Mon-Sat, on a 5 over 6 day basis, rotating on either an early or mid shift. You’ll be partly office based and part traffic desk split for staff and customer engagement – creating variety in your day to day with staff and customer engagement.
** What’s in it for you
* 33 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
* Defined Contribution pension scheme
* Free Stagecoach bus travel for you and a companion
* Retail and leisure discounts
* Clear development pathways and long-term career opportunities
