Highways Maintenance Operative (HGV Driver)

Full‑time permanent, 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Entry level.

As a Highways Maintenance Operative, you will support Transport Scotland Southwest in inspecting, cyclical maintenance, asset management, scheme delivery, winter maintenance and incident response for over 600 kilometres of road and 1,650 structures.

• All aspects of highway maintenance works including routine and cyclical maintenance activities, minor civils works, litter picking, etc.
• Driving/operating vehicles and plant requiring general and specialist skills; vehicle checks, routine maintenance (oil and water checks) and cleaning.
• Winter maintenance operations.
• Ensuring safety of yourself and others; complying with health and safety legislation and safe operation.
• Keeping records, including drivers’ hours and any required paperwork.

• Class 2 HGV Licence.
• CPC card.
• Ideally civil works experience, involvement in street works or landscaping.
