Senior Draughtsman

Role Summary

We are looking for a self‑motivated draftsman who should stay up to date with new drafting software, advancements and have eye on the detailing for fitout/MEP drafting. Preparation of detailed design drawings in AutoCAD. Submission of drawings, requisite project documents and coordinate to seek approval in accordance with the timeline, quality, assurance standards and clients project specifications.

• Quick reader of IFC drawing & finding discrepancy between IFC drawings and BOQ.
• Highlight scope gap between IFC drawings and BOQ to project QS.
• Preparation of coordinated shop drawings in line with project specification, IFC drawings and as per site condition.
• Identify & communicate potential design problems with project team.
• Raise design RFIs with Project team who can raise the design RFI to client and consultants.
• Ensure final designs are compliant with building regulations.
• Ensure all information to be incorporated in shop drawing & preparing for final submission.
• Work under pressure in line with drawing schedule as per client requirements.
• Take quantity from drawing & compare with BOQ.
• Regular coordination with subcontractor for shop drawings related to their scope of works and reviewing submitted drawings of subcontractors before client submission.
• Ensure subcontractors drawings are checked & verified before submission and ensuring inhouse drawings are coordinated with subcontractor shop drawings.
• Review & coordinate architectural drawing with MEP drawing.
• Coordinate with MEP, Project and Estimating team for regular updates.
• Work with CAD systems for creating, modifying & issuing drawings.
• Prepare submissions of requisite documents and coordinate for project approval.
• Share regular updates on the project approval process with the Manager and seek guidance as required.
• Work closely with all departments to ensure that the drawings convey the correct information.
• Self‑check own work for completeness, accuracy, compliance to standards, fits and stack‑ups.
• Work from drawings, sketches, scanned images, customer drawings or specifications.
• Use the accepted drawing standards as guidelines.
• Awareness of the regular updates on the policy and procedure on seeking project approvals.
• Carry out detailed site surveys and highlight any discrepancies between actual and design.
• Manage issuing & filing of drawings using standard drawing issue sheets.
• Ensure drawings revision and amendments are accurately noted on the drawings and communicated to all stakeholders.

• Degree/Diploma with high proficiency in AutoCAD.
• 5‑7 years’ experience preferable in interior fit‑out industry.
