Bookkeeper Opportunity

We are looking for a detail-focused bookkeeper to support daily financial activities and administrative coordination for a team in Baltimore, Maryland. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is well suited for someone who enjoys working independently in a contract to permanent capacity, brings strong numerical accuracy, and can make sound coding decisions after learning the business. The ideal candidate is comfortable balancing bookkeeping tasks with operational support while maintaining organized, reliable records.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain day-to-day financial records in Quick Books Online and keep entries current and accurate.
• Review a small volume of daily transactions and assign the appropriate general ledger classifications.
• Assist with payroll activities on a biweekly schedule for a workforce of approximately 22 employees.
• Record employee benefits-related billing and post supporting journal entries with proper account allocation.
• Examine general ledger activity to confirm accounts reconcile correctly and balances clear as expected.
• Build and update spreadsheets used for financial tracking, reporting, and account support.
• Provide assistance with certified payroll processes and learn related requirements through training as needed.
• Handle procurement-related administrative work and communicate with vendors to resolve invoice or documentation issues.
• Contribute to additional administrative and operational duties while helping identify more efficient workflows.
