THE EMPLOYER IS: POSTSMART LTD Purpose of the Role:
The Delivery & Administrative Support Assistant will help our small team with both delivery and office-based tasks. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone looking to build experience in business operations, marketing, and customer service. You’ll play an important part in promoting our business locally while learning key administrative and organisational skills.
Supervision and Support:
You will report directly to the company director and work closely with our small team of two staff members. You’ll receive regular guidance, on-the-job training, and feedback to help you grow in confidence and develop professional skills.
Skills and Experience Gained:
Hands-on experience in marketing delivery and local business promotion.
Improved administrative, organisational, and data management skills.
Stronger customer service and communication abilities.
Insight into how a new business develops and operates day-to-day.
Increased employability and confidence through practical experience and mentoring.
- Distribute marketing materials door-to-door in the local area to support business promotion.
- Carry out basic administrative duties such as data entry, record keeping, and managing documents.
- Assist with customer communications by phone, email, or in person.
- Help organise and develop the business by learning day-to-day operational processes.
- Take part in team meetings and structured training to develop practical workplace skills.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Basic computer skills (e.g. email, data entry, using Microsoft Office or Google Workspace).
- Ability to follow instructions and work accurately.
- Please note this post is physically demanding and applicants will carry out delivery tasks, including walking long distances.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Willingness to learn new skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a small team.
- Good attention to detail when completing administrative tasks.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Previous experience in a delivery, customer service, or administrative role.
- Knowledge of the local area for efficient delivery of marketing materials.
- Confidence using office software and digital tools for record keeping and communication.
- Good time management and ability to plan delivery routes effectively.
- Creative approach to problem-solving and supporting business development.
- Interest in learning how small businesses operate and grow.
