Hours of work: 37 hours per week - "Mon-Thurs 07.00 - 15.00, Fri - 07.00 - 14.30

Ashton Recruitment is recruiting a Cleansing Driver for our Public Sector client in Banbridge. This role involves operating street cleansing and priority waste collection vehicles up to 7.5 tons, carrying out waste and street cleaning duties, and supervising allocated staff. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with driving experience, mechanical skills, and a commitment to environmental standards.

Duties will include:

• Drive and maintain street cleansing or priority waste collection vehicles, ensuring safe operation.
• Perform vehicle servicing tasks, including adjusting brushes, cleaning, greasing, and operating water jets.
• Record daily mileage, fuel usage, and defects, submitting reports to the supervisor.
• Prioritise work for the team and provide on-the-job training for allocated staff.
• Collect and transport priority waste safely to designated disposal sites.
• Carry out street cleansing tasks, including litter collection, emptying bins, street washing, furniture washing, spillage removal, fly-tipping and gum removal.
• Identify and safely dispose of contaminated materials and dead animals.
• Assist with fly-tipping investigations by collecting relevant information.
• Perform recycling, refuse, and priority waste collection using mechanical bin lifts as required.
