About The Role:
Crowd Strike is seeking a Hardware Systems Engineer to join the Hardware Development & Engineering team. In this role, you will be an essential part of a rapidly expanding hardware program that delivers excellence to both internal and external customers. You'll work closely with platform architects and hardware engineers to validate new server designs, create robust testing frameworks, and ensure quality across our hardware ecosystem.
This position offers an unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge server technologies while building the tools and processes that ensure their reliability, security and performance.
What You'll Do:
Validate new hardware components including server platforms, next-gen storage media, and new technologies (PCIe Gen6, DC-MHS, GPUs, etc)
Create and execute validation plans for new server designs, including power/thermal analysis and performance characterization
Develop automation frameworks for hardware testing, firmware validation, and component qualification
Collaborate with ODM/OEM partners on server designs and integration
Write technical specifications and documentation for new platforms
Manage hardware testing infrastructure and improve its operations
Work with software teams to optimize platform configurations (BIOS, kernel, firmware)
What You'll Need:
9+ years of experience in server hardware development at a SaaS, public cloud, CSP, or similar company
Demonstrated experience with hardware validation methodologies/benchmarks and automation frameworks
Strong understanding of modern server microarchitectures and components
Experience with server BMC implementation and management interfaces (Redfish, IPMI)
Proficiency in Linux server environments (PXE, kernel optimization) and scripting languages (Python, Bash)
Knowledge of industry standards (PCIe, NVMe, DDR)
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as, written and verbal communication abilities
Bonus Points:
Experience with composable infrastructure and disaggregated server architectures
Knowledge of AI/ML hardware accelerators and infrastructure
Familiarity with open hardware platforms (OCP, OpenBMC)
Experience with power/cooling optimization at rack and datacenter scale
Familiarity with containerization and modern cloud infrastructure
