HANA CO / FICO Consultant (EMEA Rollouts, Global Template Expansion)
Role Summary
We are seeking a Senior SAP S/4
HANA CO-focused FICO Consultant with strong Controlling expertise across Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, CO-PA, and management reporting to support EMEA country rollouts within an established global SAP S/4
HANA 1909 template.
The role supports hands-on Controlling execution across design validation, configuration, testing, cutover, and post-go-live stabilization, while ensuring alignment between Finance and Operations through standardized global processes. The consultant will collaborate closely with FI, SD, MM, and RAR work streams and will work under the direction of the Global Process Owner or CO Lead while independently executing assigned country or process scope in alignment with established template standards and governance.
Rollout-Focused
Job Responsibilities
Drive CO and FICO Fit-to-Standard and localization workshops, executing Controlling configuration and documenting outcomes in alignment with approved global design standards.
Validate global template applicability and document country-specific gaps and deviations for review and approval through established governance processes.
Translate business and statutory requirements into:
Configuration approach
Functional design decisions
Test and cutover artifacts
Configure and support SAP S/4
HANA FI and CO, with emphasis on:
CO organizational design and allocation logic
Management reporting consistency across countries
Drive integration alignment with:
SD (revenue, margin, and profitability flows)
MM (procurement, inventory, and cost capture)
RAR where applicable
Support rollout execution across:
SIT and UAT
Defect triage and resolution
Cutover and go-live readiness
Hypercare and post–go-live stabilization
Create and maintain rollout documentation: functional specifications, configuration rationale, test cases/results, and training materials.
Work closely with business leaders, finance stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors to manage expectations and timelines across multiple country deployments.
Primary Skills and Experience
Strong experience in SAP S/4
HANA FICO rollouts using global templates (Fit-to-Standard, localization, and deployment).
Ability to integrate and streamline multi-system landscapes, requiring both deep functional and technical understanding.
Expertise in SAP FICO, including:
FI: GL, AR, AP, Tax, Asset Accounting
CO:
Cost Centre Accounting, Profit Centre Accounting
Demonstrated hands-on expertise required in:
Cost Center Accounting (including hierarchies, planning, and allocations)
Profit Center Accounting (including balance sheet enablement)
Internal Orders (real vs statistical usage)
Overhead costing, assessments, distributions, and settlement
CO-PA, including:
Account-based CO-PA in S/4
HANA
Margin and profitability reporting implications
Alignment of FI and CO through the Universal Journal (ACDOCA)
Ability to design CO structures that support both statutory reporting and management reporting in a global template context is a plus
Strong working knowledge of:
Universal Journal (ACDOCA)
New Asset Accounting
FIORI-based finance and controlling apps
Understanding of how S/4
HANA simplifies or replaces classic ECC CO construct
Integration knowledge with SD and MM and end-to-end process understanding.
Qualifications
SAP certification in FICO and/or other related S/4
HANA skillset.
Experience with SAP RE-FX module (CLM) is a plus.
Prior experience in EMEA country rollouts, including handling local legal/tax/regulatory requirements and complex interfaces.
