- Rippling’s Employee Graph is the core of our product strategy — the system that understands every company’s structure at a fundamental level. 50,000-employee enterprises This role leads the team that defines and scales the “shape of the organisation” for every customer.
- What You’ll Own
- Enterprise Graph Modelling:
Build and scale the core data structures (Business Units, Cost Centres, Teams, Locations).
- Position Management:
Create the foundational Job Template & Position system — defining levels, skills, pay bands, and union rules — enabling true position-based hiring across Rippling.
- Union & Workforce Rule Engine:
Introduce Unions, prevailing wage logic, and hourly workforce rules into the core model, powering Payroll, Time & Attendance, and Compliance.

What You’ll Deliver in the First Year

- Launch Job Templates & Unions — shifting Rippling from person-based to position-based modelling.
- Solve the “Re-Org Problem” — design systems that support massive, asynchronous division-level changes safely and quickly.
- Meet strict performance SLAs — ensuring low-latency read/write operations even as org graphs scale to tens of thousands of employees.
- The HR Products organisation is looking for a seasoned Senior Software Engineering Manager to join the team that owns one of Rippling's most critical and strategic product lines, Employment Products, which is among the most foundational products of Rippling. The areas of ownership for this role will require you to be a key owner of our Global Expansion efforts, which comes with high visibility and growth opportunities.

This role will involve an outstanding blend of Technical savviness and Product development, the ability to look into and shape the overall architecture of the Product itself.

- Product Development

Experience:

Hands-on experience building scalable products end-to-end. Should have been closely involved in defining and delivering both small and large-scale projects.
- Stakeholder

Collaboration:

Proven ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, both within India and globally. Strong collaboration and coordination skills are essential.
- Execution-Driven:
Should be execution-oriented with a clear understanding of how to set up roadmaps, define milestones, and drive outcomes.
- People Leadership:
Minimum of 5 years in a managerial role and in Managing Managers for at least 2 years, with prior experience of 7-8 years as an Individual Contributor. Must have experience leading…
