Role Overview :
The Lead Buyer – Homeware is responsible for curating, sourcing, and managing the product assortment across all homeware categories such as décor, kitchenware, tableware, furnishings, and bath. The role ensures that the range is trend-relevant, price-competitive, and aligned with customer preferences and brand positioning. The individual will drive end-to-end buying processes, vendor negotiations, and margin management to achieve business objectives and category growth
Product Planning
Understandthetrendsprevailingintheinternationalmarketandcustomizethesametosuittheneeds of the domestic market
Alignbuywiththeplananddrivethesales,marginandinventoryforthecategoryasperthebudget
Ensurerangepresentationissubmittedtotheconcernedstakeholdersatdefinedperiod
Defineminmaxandinner/outercartonquantitiesandplanogramthenewrangesandconceptsbased on stock density
InitiatebuyingasperOTBandensuretimelydeliveryandavailabilityofrightstocksatthestore
Timelyandefficientimplementationofbuyingandseasonalcalendar
Ensureontimeorders,re-ordersarealignedtothefinancialnorms
Manageendtoendprocessofproduct
PO,confirmations,inspections,shipmentsanddeliveries
Prepare FABs and training module for assigned category
Product Presentation
Ensure timely implementation of the planograms
Coordinatewiththedesignteamandvendorsfortherightpackagingoftheproduct
Coordinateproductavailabilityforphotoshoots,andproductstobeinthefloorthatareincatalogue
Product Performance
Track sales performance for category post launch and take required action
Regularlycollectandanalyzeproductfeedbackduringstorevisitsandsellthroughreports
Conductperiodicsurveystounderstandcustomerbehavior,competitionmappingandarriveatstrategy pricing
Monitortheageingofstockwithreferencetooverallstockholdingasperdefinednorms
Analyzeandmakerecommendationsforspaceplanningtoensurethe
SPFandMPFforthedepartment is in line with concept performance
Workcloselywith
Planning and
MC,VM,Designer,Graphicdesignertotranslatecategorygoalsonthe floor and for adequate stock availability on the floor
Relationship management
Manage relationships with brand partners,vendors,retail and planning team
Manage internal relationships for smoother implementation of business process
Roles and Responsibilities
Strong commercial acumen and analytical mindset.
Deep understanding of homeware market trends, consumer behavior, and retail dynamics.
Excellent vendor management, negotiation, and communication skills.
Advanced Excel and data interpretation capabilities.
Strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to execution.
