Locum Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (Early Pregnancy)
We are recruiting a Locum Consultant with a special interest in Early Pregnancy and Emergency Gynaecology to join our team for a fixed‑term six‑month appointment. The role requires full‑time commitment across Obstetrics and Gynaecology, with a focus on outpatient clinic sessions, labour ward duties, and gynaecology operating theatre lists.
Applicants must be flexible, adaptable to evolving health service changes, and ready to meet the challenges presented by the North Wales health system. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in all aspects of work, including outpatients, labour ward cover, on‑call rotation, and development of departmental audits and clinical research.
Responsibilities- Provide full‑time clinical coverage across obstetrics and gynaecology.
- Attend outpatient clinic sessions and surgical lists in early pregnancy and emergency gynaecology.
- Perform labour ward duties and maintain resident on‑call coverage.
- Contribute to departmental audits, clinical governance initiatives, and ongoing research projects.
- Support multidisciplinary team activities and liaise with allied health professionals.
- Full GMC registration with licence to practise.
- RCOG Early Pregnancy and Emergency Gynaecology ATSM or equivalent.
- Appropriate experience in training grade posts leading to accreditation for CCT, CESR or recognised equivalent.
- Completed ATSMs appropriate to the post and evidence of audit/quality improvement experience.
- Leadership, good organisational and management skills, and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Welsh language skills or willingness to learn.
- Inclusion on GMC Specialist Register.
- Additional relevant degree(s) and teaching qualification.
