Overview
Veterinary Surgeon - No OOHs or Sundays! Join Vets for Pets Bangor for a MAT cover position with the potential to become permanent. This is a full-time role with a typical 35–40 hour week, 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (9am–1pm), and no out-of-hours or Sunday work. Salary up to £60,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities- Join a team with years of experience that can support your veterinary career development
- MAT cover for 1 year, with potential for permanent appointment
- Collaborate with practice owners and team to provide quality care
- Balance consults and surgery to maintain high standards of patient care
- Work 1 in 3 Saturdays (9am–1pm) as part of a fixed rota; OOH handled by Vets Now
- Full-time role ideally between 35–40 hours per week
- No OOHs or Sundays
- Fixed-term position for 12 months to cover maternity leave; start ideally January 2026
Vets for Pets Bangor is a well-established practice with a loyal client base and a friendly, close-knit team. The practice is accredited by the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme for Small Animal General Practice.

3 Vets, 3 Nurses, 1 Student Nurse, 4 Receptionists and a Practice Manager. Stephen and Shona Grant lead the team;
Stephen holds an Ophthalmology certificate. You will have opportunities to work closely with the owners and participate in clinical decision-making.
The ideal candidate will have strong surgical and medical skills, be capable of sole charge when needed, and be passionate about delivering excellent client service and patient care. You should be able to work up cases to a high standard and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.
