Technical Author – Inorganic Chemicals – UK BAT – 32437

Location:

Chippenham, England, United Kingdom (most recent posting)

We are looking for a Technical Author to lead the development of UK BAT conclusions for Large Volume Inorganic Chemicals (LVIC) installations, reducing emissions to air, water and land. The role involves drafting BAT conclusions, liaising with technical working groups, and producing documents suitable for publication as a new UK-wide environmental standard.

Responsibilities
  • Draft BAT conclusions based on best available techniques.
  • Liaise with technical working groups and stakeholders.
  • Present final documents and recommendations.
  • Analyze technical data and arguments critically.
  • Write technical documents and reports.
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables.
  • Occasional travel and overnight stays may be required.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in the LVIC industry.
  • Strong understanding of process engineering, environmental legislation and UK/EU industrial environmental law.
  • Ability to critically analyze technical data and arguments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to build consensus and work with diverse teams.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with BAT deployments, permits and environmental standards.
  • Knowledge of IED and Environmental Permitting Regulations.
  • Data collection and technical analysis of industrial data.
  • Stakeholder engagement and consensus‑building experience.
