The role of the department is to provide high quality care to the patients and service users for inpatients and outpatient son the Acute Medical Unit and Medical Same Day Emergency Care. The units take direct admissions from G.P, Emergency Department and Clinic Referrals.
You will be required to work closely with all members of our Multi-Disciplinary Team to maintain service provision. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, appropriately prioritise their workload and be highly motivated.
The admin service for AMU/Medical SDEC covers
07:00-19:30 7 days a week. The post holder will be required to work a minimumof 3x12 hour shifts a week including weekends and bank holidays.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to join our AMU Admin team to carry out a full range of duties inorder to provide an effective and efficient service for the Acute Medical Unitand Medical Same Day Emergency Care.
The post holder will be required to work in 3different roles covering AMU and Medical SDEC which will involve:
- To provide an efficient and effective reception for patients attending the departments, directing and helping visitors and patients with enquires.
- To act as first line of contact for all telephone enquiries to the ward/unit, re-directing calls when necessary
- To ensure patients are appropriately received,admitted, transferred, discharged and where necessary make outpatient appointments, using the Hospital Careflow (electronic patient record system) system
- General administration duties such as filing,scanning, photocopying and tracking medical notes
- To work closely with the multi-disciplinary wardteam to maintain recognised standards promoting efficient ward management
