Location: Barnsley
Salary: £46,000 per annum (potential to earn up to £51,400 via Ofsted & Occupancy bonuses)
Working Hours: 39 hours per week, Full-time, Permanent

This is a small, nurturing home designed to offer stability, safety, and emotional development for young people with EBD and trauma-related needs. The focus is on fostering meaningful relationships to support young people as they transition into adulthood.
Who We Are Looking ForWe are seeking a passionate and experienced Children’s Home Registered Manager to lead the Barnsley home. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on making a real difference in young people’s lives, can lead and inspire a team, and ensure high-quality care delivery in line with legislation and Ofsted standards.
Essential Requirements- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (or willingness to work towards it)
- Level 4 Children, Young People and Families Practitioner or Level 3 Residential Childcare
- Previous experience managing or supervising staff within an Ofsted-registered children’s home
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and Ofsted frameworks (SCIFF)
- Proven leadership, team management, and people development skills
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

- Overall management of the home, ensuring high-quality care and safeguarding
- Lead, develop, and supervise the team, including staff inductions, appraisals, and CPD
- Maintain compliance with all legislation, regulations, and policies
- Oversee admissions, discharges, care planning, and quality assurance
- Chair and participate in meetings with professionals, commissioners, and Ofsted
- Manage budgets, resources, and on-call responsibilities where required
- 25 days annual leave + 8 statutory holidays
- On-call payments: £25 (weekdays), £35 (weekends)
- £3,000 bonus for outstanding Ofsted report
- Full occupancy bonus: £200 per month
- Petrol allowance (business insurance required)
- Pension scheme in line with government guidance
