Do you believe in the power of gifts that last beyond a lifetime? Barnsley Hospice is looking for a compassionate Legacy Fundraiser to grow and sustain our legacy giving programme, securing care for future generations.
What Youll Do
Promote legacy giving through campaigns, events, and communications
Build and maintain relationships with solicitors, will-writers, and professional partners
Steward legacy supporters with sensitivity and professionalism
Deliver presentations and community information sessions
Record pledges and income accurately in the CRM
Work with fundraising and communications teams to maximise impact

Main duties of the jobDevelop, implement, and oversee a sustainable legacy fundraising programme to maximise income.
Deliver annual legacy campaigns and events, managing supporter journeys from enquiry to pledge.
Steward legacy pledgers, ensuring timely and relevant communications across multiple channels.
Liaise with solicitors and executors, keeping CRM records accurate and GDPR-compliant.
Monitor and report financial activity in collaboration with the Finance Team.
Project manage marketing communications: direct mail, digital, social media, and events.
Support large hospice events, including occasional work outside contracted hours.
Network with fundraisers and keep up-to-date with legacy trends, Charity Law, and fundraising regulations.
Act as a key contact for legacy fundraising across the organisation.
Assist with other income generation activities as required, working closely with marketing, events, and supporter engagement teams.
Use excellent organisational, communication, and relationship-building skills to maximise donor engagement and income.
About usBarnsley Hospice is a charity that provides specialist palliative and end of life care to hundreds of local people and those close to them each year. Our main priority is to achieve the best possible quality of life for people living with a life‑limiting illness, whilst supporting those close to them during the period of illness and bereavement. As a specialist care provider, the range of skills we offer include pain and symptom management, emotional support and end‑of‑life care.
The hospice currently employs about 100 people and has a team of volunteers, based both at the hospice and within our Retail Hub.

Job responsibilitiesKey Duties and Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and oversee a sustainable legacy fundraising programme under the supervision of the Individual Giving and Lottery Manager to maximise income.
Plan, deliver, and establish annual legacy campaigns and events with support from the Marketing and Communications Team.
Manage supporter journeys, stewarding legacy donors from enquiry to pledge.
Respond to supporter enquiries via telephone, email, or the hospice website.
Coordinate and oversee stewardship of legacy pledgers, ensuring timely communications and collaboration with relevant teams.
Liaise with solicitors and executors, recording interactions in the CRM system.
Act as the main point of contact for legacy fundraising across the organisation.
Monitor and report on financial activity related to legacy income streams with the Finance Team, identifying growth, concern, and success.
