Purpose of the RoleTo deliver high-quality social work practice within the Children in Need, Child Protection, and Court Work service, ensuring that children and families receive timely, effective, and outcome-focused support. The Senior Social Worker will manage complex and high-risk cases provide professional guidance to colleagues, and promote excellence in safeguarding, assessment, and court proceedings.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage a reduced caseload of complex and high-risk Children in Need, Child Protection, and Court cases.
Undertake thorough assessments and produce high-quality, evidence-based reports for court proceedings.
Lead interventions that safeguard children and support families to achieve sustainable positive outcomes.
Provide professional guidance, mentorship, and modelling of best practice to less experienced social workers.
Act as a lead practitioner in complex safeguarding cases, exercising sound professional judgement and risk management.
Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to promote integrated and effective support for vulnerable families.
Contribute to service development through participation in audits, reflective practice sessions, and quality assurance activities.
