Lifeguard & Swim Teacher

At ACES Education, we’re passionate about empowering young people through high-quality physical education and swimming provision. As part of our Swim:

ED programme, we deliver safe, fun, inclusive swimming lessons and water-safety education in schools using innovative pop-up pools and professional teams of instructors and lifeguards.

Location: Various sites (schools & pop-up swimming locations across the Barnsley & Leeds area)

Hours: Part-time & full-time opportunities available

Salary: Competitive (based on experience & qualifications)

As a Lifeguard & Swim Teacher
, you’ll:

• Supervise swimming sessions and ensure the safety of all participants.
• Plan and deliver engaging swimming lessons tailored to children’s abilities.
• Teach key water-safety skills and help swimmers build confidence in the water.
• Maintain a safe pool environment in line with health & safety protocols.
• Provide first-aid and emergency response as needed.
• Communicate progress and achievement to parents/school staff.

You should have:

• Lifecycle qualification: A recognised lifeguard qualification (e.g., NPLQ, STA Pool Lifeguard Award or equivalent).
• Swim teaching qualification: A credible swim teaching qualification (e.g., Swim England/STA Level 2 or equivalent).
• Excellent communication skills and a love of working with children.
• Good organisational skills and professionalism.
• A valid DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
• A positive, enthusiastic attitude and a team-player mindset.
