We are seeking a dedicated Pulmonary Function Technologist to join our healthcare team. This role involves performing specialized pulmonary function tests to assist in diagnosing and managing respiratory conditions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, experience in hospital or acute care settings, and familiarity with pediatric testing. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic clinical environment, supporting patient care through precise testing and data collection.
Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive pulmonary function tests, including spirometry, lung volume measurements, and diffusion capacity assessments.
- Prepare patients for testing procedures, ensuring comfort and understanding of the process.
- Accurately record and analyze test results, ensuring data integrity and quality control.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to interpret test findings and support diagnosis.
- Maintain proper documentation of patient records and test results in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Assist with medication administration as needed within scope of practice, particularly in pediatric or acute care settings.
- Ensure all testing equipment is properly calibrated, maintained, and cleaned according to safety standards.
- Stay updated on advancements in pulmonary diagnostics and participate in ongoing training.
- Proven experience in performing pulmonary function tests, preferably within a hospital or acute care environment.
- Knowledge of pediatric respiratory testing procedures is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to respiratory health.
- Experience working with patients across various age groups, including children.
- Ability to operate specialized diagnostic equipment accurately and efficiently.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols related to respiratory therapy is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Certification as a Pulmonary Function Technologist or equivalent credential is preferred but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided for qualified candidates.
