We are seeking a Buyer to join the Supply Chain team. This position will provide the candidate a valuable opportunity to gain experience, expand their skills and support supply chain efforts within the organization. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Supply Chain, the Buyer will be responsible for selecting and negotiating with approved vendors and placing purchase orders in response to service or material requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for purchasing materials and services to meet operational requirementsMaintain records and tracking for cost and schedule of all purchased itemsMonitor inventory and plan accordinglyCreate and maintain relationships with suppliersOrder products and authorize paymentsEnsure the accuracy of purchase ordersResearch product and material selectionsOther tasks as assignedQualifications You Must Have:
Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in Materials Management, Business Administration or related experience would be considered an asset.Experience with supply chain and related systems, procurement, production control/material planning, receiving, cost estimating, logistics, and/or financeEffective verbal and written communicator at all levels in the organizationRequired to have strong negotiation, problem-solving & decision making skillsProven experience to remain organized, and prioritize work effectively.Qualifications We Prefer:
Work experience in Supply Chain within the Aerospace and Military Defense industryExperience working in a manufacturing/engineering environmentProficient knowledge of basic computer programs (Microsoft Office suite) and advanced typing abilitiesExperience interfacing with external customers and all levels of internal organizationA certificate in purchasing from the Purchasing Management Association of Canada would be an assetSupply Chain Certification is an assetOther Position Details:
