Fabricator – Aluminum Extrusions

The Fabricator – Aluminum Extrusions is responsible for cutting, machining, and assembling aluminum profiles and components according to specifications, drawings, and production schedules. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and familiarity with tools and fabrication equipment used in aluminium manufacturing.

• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders to determine material requirements and fabrication details.
• Cut, drill, punch, and machine aluminum extrusions using saws, CNC machines, and hand tools.
• Assemble fabricated components using fasteners, or mechanical joints as specified.
• Measure and inspect finished parts to ensure they meet tolerances and quality standards.
• Operate equipment such as mitre saws, routers, drills, and extrusion punch presses safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and machinery are properly maintained.
• Follow safety procedures and report any hazards or defective equipment to supervision.
• Assist with loading/unloading material and finished assemblies as needed.
• Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to troubleshoot and improve fabrication processes.

• High school diploma or equivalent; trade certification or technical training in fabrication or machining is an asset.
• 2+ years of experience in aluminum fabrication, preferably in glazing, curtain wall, or architectural systems manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and tape measurements accurately.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, squares, etc.).
• Knowledge of aluminum properties and safe handling practices.
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Team player with good communication and problem-solving skills.

• Experience with CNC routers or programmable saws.
• Familiarity with curtain wall, window wall, or architectural panel systems.
• Forklift or overhead crane certification.
