Registered Practical Nurse, Float Nurses - (22463)

The Nursing Resource Unit (NRU) provides staffing support to a variety of units throughout the hospital. This position comes with a comprehensive orientation and the opportunity for on‑going professional growth and development.

As the Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) you are a professional caregiver who is responsible and accountable for providing quality patient care within a delivery model in accordance with the organizational philosophy, policies and standards of care of the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, the College of Nurses (CNO), and all relevant legislation.

We are currently recruiting for 10 Temporary Full‑Time positions.

As a qualified candidate you will have the following job requirements:
  • Registered Practical Nursing Diploma or equivalent education to practice at full scope
  • Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current BCLS
  • Sound knowledge of nursing process and responsibilities of profession
  • Functions independently within scope of practice
  • Computer literacy in current software applications

  • Sound problem solving, communications (oral and written), conflict resolution and decision making skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to the professional growth and development of self and others
  • Demonstrated commitment to the concepts of Continuous Quality Improvement and Customer Service
  • Ability to learn about, from and with other members of the patient care team to foster a strong interprofessional model of care
