Position: Expression of Interest - Salaried GP - Out of Hours
Location: Dalton-in-Furness

Job Summary

Cumbria Health is recruiting for GP's to work in our Out of Hours Services throughout Cumbria, primarily Barrow, Kendal, Whitehaven and Penrith, and are pleased to offer Skilled Worker Visa Sponsorship for eligible candidates. We are experienced in completing and working with Skilled Worker candidates.

Our General Practitioners form an integral part of the Cumbria Health team, accountable to the Chief Executive and Medical Director. As a Cumbria Health GP, you will be responsible for providing high quality primary care services to the population of Cumbria, in an out of hours setting.

We have shifts available across all sites on a permanent part time basis, these shifts can be allocated on a job share basis.

Shifts

• Barrow - Furness General Hospital
  :
  Weekend daytime, midweekli>
• Kendal - Westmorland General Hospital
  :
  Friday to Monday nights every week
• Whitehaven - West Cumberland Hospital
  :
  Mostly weekends, some midweek evenings
• Penrith - Penrith Hospital
  :
  Mostly weekends, possibly 10 hours per week

Responsibilities

• Respond to medical problems presented by patients (clinical advice by telephone, face-to-face consultations, history taking, examination, diagnosis, investigation, treatment, referral where appropriate).
• Provide health promotion and preventative health care and advice where appropriate.
• Provide medical care in accordance with Cumbria Health's quality standards.
• Prescribe and administer medicines in accordance with the Medicines Management procedures.
• Participate in and support the electronic methods of data collection and record management whilst ensuring appropriate communication with all professionals.
• Produce clinical records in accordance with quality standards and ensure full clinical details are supplied to GP patients by the start of the next working day.

Essential Qualifications

• Fully qualified Doctor with full GMC registration.
• Evidence of GP experience (certificate of prescribed and equivalent experience).
• Must be on Medical Performers List in England.

Desirable Qualifications

• Additional qualifications relevant to the provision of GMS/PMS services.

Essential Experience

• Knowledge and use of IM & T systems.
• Experience in medical audit and clinical risk management.
• Working across boundaries, good communication skills, able to collaborate and cooperate in multi‑agency working.
• Previous experience delivering GMS/PMS services.
• Eligibility to provide CHS, Maternity services, Contraceptive services, Evidence of continued professional development.

Desirable Experience

• Experience of providing clinical leadership in a GP practice environment.

Pay & Contract

Salary: £55.89 to £60.72 an hour dependent on experience.
