Our Submarines business has been safely delivering world class submarines to the UK Royal Navy for more than a century. The Astute class will equip the Royal Navy with its largest and most capable generation of attack submarines. We are responsible for the design, build, test and commissioning of these state‑of‑the‑art vessels.

What you’ll do at work- Within the Engineering function our nuclear‑focussed engineers are responsible for ensuring the nuclear reactor is safely designed, built and tested, providing the power the submarine needs to protect the nation
- Nuclear focussed engineers collaborate with diverse teams to deliver a reliable and secure reactor, necessitating strong communication skills and meticulous attention to detail

- Follow health and safety regulations, standards, and guidance.
- Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. For example, segregation of resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.
- Comply with engineering standards and regulations. For example, British Standards (BS), International Organisation for Standardisation standards (ISO). European Norm (EN).
- Analyse engineering and manufacturing data and information to support technical outputs. For example, read and interpret text, data, engineering drawings, work instructions, method statements, operation manuals.
