Families First Advice Line Advisor – Temporary / Fixed Term

The Families First Advice Line offers advice, support and guidance for families and professionals in the Vale of Glamorgan. The team provides a personal service, listening to the needs of each family and supporting individuals to resolve concerns independently or by directing them to other services.

Pay Details: Grade 6: SCP – 14 – 19 (£29,540—£32,061) p.a.; £15.31—£16.62 per hour

Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week

Main Place of Work: Barry Community Enterprise Centre

Temporary Reason: Families First grant funded until March 2028 – continuation subject to Welsh Government funding

Description: Provide advice and guidance to families and carers, initially by telephone, in line with Families First guidance, relevant national standards, and local and national legislation and guidance.

Deliver high‑quality, person‑centred advice and support for families and professionals, ensuring compliance with statutory and voluntary sector requirements.

• Experience working in a statutory or voluntary setting with children, young people and families
• 5 GCSEs grades C and above or equivalent
• High level of personal motivation and ability to motivate others
