We lead the industry in speed and efficiency across all data management responsibilities. We achieve this through the development of tools, automation, and the adoption of cutting-edge technologies that streamline clinical trial data collection and delivery.

As trusted partners in end-to-end drug development, Data Management leverages deep expertise in cross-therapeutic area data modalities to lead and influence clinical trial data strategy across Roche. We balance the need for high-quality outputs with fit-for-purpose data collection, enabling faster, more efficient trials that support timely decision-making and accelerate the delivery of new medicines to patients.
**** The Opportunity
**** The People and Molecule Lead (PML) is accountable for the performance, development, and delivery of data management across the assigned molecule(s) or therapeutic area. This role directly leads a team of Data Managers responsible for ensuring data quality, integrity, and readiness across multiple studies, partnering closely with Biostatistics, Analytical Data Science, Clinical Operations, and vendor teams. The leader translates functional strategy into clear team priorities, allocates resources across studies, and ensures high-quality data delivery aligned with regulatory and clinical milestones.

This role also drives continuous improvement, talent development, and a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation within the data management team.

You will lead a diverse team of 6-8 data managers, with an overall responsibility for a select molecule or disease area. Your primary responsibilities will be in service to your direct reports and to the molecule or disease area teams you are supporting. You will help match talent to opportunities – understanding the skills and aspirations of your team and weighing those alongside PDD strategic context and possible opportunities.

You will coach and mentor through your extensive data management experience and drug development expertise. Additionally, you will establish and foster key internal and external relationships, purposefully collaborating to be at the forefront of our industry.
* You oversee data management execution across a molecule or disease area, ensuring consistent quality, compliance, and delivery against program timelines for all fit-for-purpose DM products
* You review and approve data strategies across studies, including database design, data flow planning, and vendor oversight
* You serve as an escalation point for complex study-level issues and enable cross-study data integration/readiness for analysis
* You apply deep knowledge of data standards, regulatory expectations, and diverse data types to guide study-level data planning
* You support inspection readiness and regulatory submission planning through proactive oversight and risk mitigation
* You drive process optimization and adoption of innovative tools or approaches to improve data quality and efficiency
* You lead and develop a team of Data Managers supporting multiple studies across one or more molecules within a subset of a disease area
* You set clear goals, development plans, and performance expectations to enable functional growth and delivery
* You manage team workload, capacity planning, and study allocation based on program complexity and milestones
* You foster collaboration and information sharing across study teams and with cross-functional partners
