NCCR AntiResist Call: Research Fellowship Clinicians

The National Center of Competence in Research (NCCR) Anti Resist is a Swiss-wide research consortium funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).

Anti Resist is transforming antibiotic discovery and development through in vitro modelling of in-patient conditions in order to address antibiotic resistance, a problem of global importance. To reach this goal, Anti Resist has assembled a panel of experts in the fields of clinical research, infection biology, engineering, chemistry, computation, and pharmacology.

Biomedicine at the University of Basel, University Hospital Basel, and the Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering (D-BSSE) of ETH Zurich in Basel work in close proximity to each other at the Life Science Campus in Basel. Additional research groups are located at the ETH Zurich, the University of Zurich, Balgrist University Hospital, the EPFL Lausanne, the University of Lausanne, the University of Geneva, Uppsala University in Sweden, and the Ben-Gurion University in Beer-Sheva, Israel.

NCCR Anti Resist aims to train the next generation of researchers and clinicians in infectious diseases using novel interdisciplinary approaches. To support this aim, NCCR Anti Resist is awarding a unique, annual Research Fellowship in Infection and Treatment for clinicians.

The Research Fellowship for Clinicians supports career development in academic medicine, educates the next generation of clinicians in areas relevant to infection and treatment, and fosters the growth of clinician-scientists committed to bridging clinical practice and basic research. It aims to strengthen the translational bridge between basic science and clinical practice within the framework of NCCR Anti Resist.

This position would suit one of the following profiles:

• Medical degree (MD or equivalent)
• MD doctoral candidates with prior clinical experience as residents
• MD planning to move to an MD PhD or an MD PhD moving to a postdoctoral position.
