Infrastructure Engineer

Base pay range

Permanent, full-time | Salary up to £55,000 + bonus and benefits

We’re recruiting for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join a technology-driven organisation where service resilience and infrastructure modernisation are critical. This is a hands‑on role across on‑prem, virtualised and cloud environments, with a strong focus on stability, security, and acquisition‑driven integration.

With a major on‑prem to cloud transformation planned for 2026, this is a great opportunity for someone with strong on‑prem skills to upskill into Azure and cloud delivery over time. You’ll still need solid on‑prem capability in the interim, and some on‑prem services will remain post‑migration.

• Rubrik backup & recovery (highly desirable)
• Firewall / network security hands‑on experience
• Acquisition migrations — tenant/user/workload integrations into a core environment
• Exposure to, or ambition for, cloud transformation (Azure)

• Design, deploy and support Windows on‑prem, Hyper‑V and Azure infrastructure
• Own patching, performance, capacity and lifecycle management
• Implement security controls and support compliance
• Lead infrastructure projects end‑to‑end
• Act as senior escalation for complex incidents
• Maintain accurate, audit‑ready documentation
• Contribute to the 2026 cloud migration and automation improvements (Terraform)

• Strong AD/DNS/DHCP/failover clustering knowledge
• Rubrik backup experience preferred
• Firewall and core networking fundamentals (VLAN, CIDR, VRRP, etc.)
• Great documentation skills and change control/CAB experience
• Confident communicator, able to manage priorities and own delivery
• Azure admin experience or clear desire to upskill into cloud
• Terraform/IaC exposure
• Relevant certs (CCNA/MCSA/AZ‑series)
